Alan Le Pavoux - Chair
Alan has had a varied career starting in childcare and education he progressed to managing several organisations, he spent several years supporting children with autistic spectrum disorders at Rouge Bouillon school whilst progressing with his academic qualification in this area.
He then changed direction to working in the sport and leisure industry. He started as a leisure assistant at Les Quennevais sports centre, then moved to run the school sports facilities helping to develop the services offered and develop great working relationships with various sports clubs and organisations.
During this period, he helped found the Jersey Aquatic Rescue Club and has lead this as chair for 22 years creating one of the biggest lifesaving clubs in Britian, this work has been recognised by the Royal Lifesaving Society UK.
Alan left Government to join the Bosdet foundation running the recently refurbished marine lake and to support the activities at Les Ormes. He was offered the role of charity manager and has been instrumental in developing the philanthropic activities, grant making, utilising facilities and developing Camp Bosdet.
During 2018 he became aware of the need to change the way minibuses were funded and utilised as many that were paid for by philanthropic organisations had very low usage, some completing less than 1000 miles in one year.
He is also hugely aware of the inequality that exists between various sectors of our community and sees Jersey Community Transport as a way of addressing some of these challenges and reducing the effects of isolation caused by various reasons.
